Terrific Tuesday

Welcome back to me!  Yes, I've been very lax in posting, but today is one of those days I just had to share with you.

About ten days ago, Stampin' Up unveiled the new Occasion Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Catalog....I was so impressed, this is the first catalog that I truly WANTED IT ALL...well when I started to enter it all I said to myself, Merry Christmas, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Mother's Day, and Happy Birthday...yeah I knew this wasn't going to happen, so I had to really look close at everything....and when my order came last week, yup Merry Christmas to me.

Here is the first card I made:

If you look behind that picture there are some of the new stamp sets, those are only the photopolymer ones that I don't have to put together, oh yeah, there is another stack of clear and wood ones that I have to put together yet, can you see that I'm doing my happy dance.

If you haven't received your new catalogs yet and would like one, please let me know.

I hope you have a wonderful day.  Stay tuned for tomorrow, I'll be posting a new product that I'll be offering as a class....

Wacky Wednesday

I'm so excited to share with you a card that you can do at our next Stamp A Stack.

You may be wondering what is the difference between a Stamp Camp and a Stamp A Stack.

Stamp Camp

You are making 10 difference cards that have more elements to them.

Stamp A Stack

You are making 20 cards; 5 different cards 4 of each.  Very simple to do, the elements have already been die cut out or if the embossing folder is used it is done for you!

Here is a card for our next Stamp A Stack which will be held November 21-22.  At this Stamp A Stack we are offering both Christmas and All Occasion...

Here is one of the All Occasion one.....

Here is one of the Christmas ones....

Its a gift card holder...using the Top Note Die (oldie but a goodie)...so cute.

And of course here is the finished product....the trees are stamped with the All Is Calm Designer Series Paper and of course we had to add a little bling with the Frosted Embellishments.

I hope you can come and bring your friends it should be a fun time.

Monthly Stamp Club

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I wanted to give you a little sneak peak of one of the cards we will be doing at our monthly stamp club.

You may be wondering how the monthly stamp club work.  Well its pretty simple...you commit to come to stamp club for a minimum of four months and spend only $20 then......you come to my house and stamp three cards and get a little "treat" when you are done AND one of those four months you co-host a Stampin' Up party and receive the hostess benefits!  How simple is that.  Club is typically held the first week of the months, but the date/times are very flexible.  Well here is the sneak peak of one of the cards.

We will be using the new Under the Tree Specialty Designer Paper....we will also use the star framelits....can't wait for Club.

VA Project

On a personal note, my Mom and Dad were married almost 67 years when my Mom died in 2010.  My dad was so lonely it was so hard to see him like that, after about a year, he realized that he needed to get out with people and we were able to enroll him the VA Adult Day Health Care Program (ADHC)....what a blessing!  He met so many wonderful people.  One day he called me and told me that there were some high school kids who came and visited with them, they did crafts, played bingo and just talked to them....HE LOVED IT.  I immediately had to find out what school, I was so surprised when I heard it was through the Area Learning Center.  I knew when I retired that I wanted to give back to all the people that helped my parents....so I contacted the head of the program and started my volunteering with the program.  When I walk into the ADHC I have such a wonderful time with these guys, they appreciate everything we do for them, but if they only knew how much they did for our family, especially our Dad!

So.....one of our projects this month is Veterans Day...WOW this is such a special day because we remember all of our Veterans and I'm so proud to say that my Dad was one.  For those of you that knew my Dad he was maybe a little rough around the edges, but he loved his family, country and his God and for that I'm very thankful.  He was proud to have served his country during WWII and proudly wore his Purple Heart.

This weekend, my sister Brenda and I are prepping for the projects we are die cutting the stars and then next week one day I will go to the Area Learning Center to work with the students gluing the stars together....then on Friday November 7th, we will go out to the ADHC and finish the stars and play some bingo....what an honor to not only work with these students, but to spend a few hours with our Veterans.

Here is the finished product.

They can either hang the stars in their rooms or stand them up....My friend Lynell helped me come up with this idea...then I called my sister Brenda and she volunteered to help prep them...what a wonderful time we will have at the lake prepping for this and remembering "Dad".

Snippet Thursday

When I have stamping events I have "pieces" of product left over....in my world if it isn't at least a quarter of a sheet its considered a "snippet"....I don't keep snippets, but I have friends that love them, so I give them my snippets, in return they love to show me what they have done with them.

I'm having so much fun looking over the cards I've received from snippets!  Makes me rethink that I should keep a few!  Just kidding...for those who know me I don't do snippets, but I have friends that do....thanks Carol and Joyce.

Here are a some of cards I received from Carol last week....

Again, I'm truly amazed and what she can do with different shapes of paper....keep it up Carol.

Wacky Wednesday

Can you believe that October is almost over...it seems the months fly by so fast.  I'm so excited to go to Veronica's house on Thursday night for a party....this group is so much fun, amazing women and of course their kids are great too.

Veronice asked me to use the set "Endless Wishes", I was very happy to do that since it is one of my favorite sets because it is so versatile.  Here is the card I came up with....simple, clean and cute (in my opinion at least)...what are your thoughts?

I'm now off to design cards for our monthly stamp club....maybe you'll get a sneak peak!!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Snippet Thursday

As you can tell by the title I'm starting a new weekly card....Snippet Thursday.

You may be wondering what "Snippets" are....well they are the leftovers from cardstock, designer paper, ribbons and pieces of Paper Pumpkin, that, in my world, have no need for anymore.  In comes my friends Carol and Joyce.   They have taught me that every "snippet" has a purpose.  I've been giving my snippets to these two awesome, creative stampers for years and the creations they come up with are amazing.  Well today I have a couple of cards that they have made and every Thursday will try and post another one, its always blows me away with what they have done.

Now I don't know exactly what snippets I've given them, but I guarantee you those two women use them.

I hope you enjoy this new segment.  If you have a snippet card that you would like to share, send it to me and maybe I can spotlight you on a "Snippet Thursday".

Have a wonderful day.

Rectangle Card

As promised yesterday I wanted to show you how you can make a rectangle card out of square framelit.

I started out with a card that is 4" x 5 1/2"

I folded it in half the long way (hamburger fold)

I then used the 5th square from our square template collection and positioned it over the middle of the card.

and walaaaaaa look at what happens...

and of course here is a card I made using this idea....

And this will be one of our cards we make at our October stamp club.  Thank you Carol D for the awesome idea!

Have a wonderful day.
